Udi Baron and Family

Udi Baron, our founder, grew up on a farm in Israel, surrounded from a very early age by fresh, naturally-grown foods. Among other things, this experience instilled in Udi a keen appreciation for the highest-quality, great-tasting foods, which is why he has always loved finding, making, and sharing great food with others.  The common ingredient in each one of our family of food businesses is fresh, flavorful, all-natural foods—foods made with joy that are a joy to eat.

Udi’s entire family has been involved in the founding, growing, and operation of Udi’s Foods.  From Day One of Udi the Sandwichman, his wife Fern, son Etai, and daughter Robin helped prepare sandwiches, and even deliver them to customers.  As the businesses have branched out and grown, more defined roles developed for everyone: Udi’s wife, Fern, now manages our office, his son, Etai, oversees the bakery and catering businesses, and daughter Robin was the opening executive chef of Udi’s Bread Bistro and consults with menu development.

Yasmin Lozada-Hissom

Though Yasmin Lozada-Hissom, Udi’s pastry specialist and partner, honed her skills working for restaurants in Paris, New York, and Italy, she’d tell you the best culinary instruction she ever got was at her grandmother’s side, in her kitchen in Venezuela, where the recipe for Udi’s Granola originated. Now a partner in Udi’s Granola, Yasmin is also involved in new product development and quality control.

Eric Clayman

In 2004, Udi and Eric met by chance over bowls of Pho at a local Vietnamese restaurant. At the time, Eric and his cousin, Adam Lussier, owned a consulting business called foxowl, which helped small business grow their companies.

After a serendipitous conversation, Udi hired foxowl to help research the competitive landscape, and make and market Udi’s Granola. foxowl did just that, selling Udi’s into numerous stores, worked out distribution, and put in place the foundation for creating a successful business.

When Udi realized that the granola business had potential, he asked Eric to become his business partner, give up consulting, and focus on granola full-time. As you may have already guessed, Eric said “yes,” and is now the Managing Partner of Udi’s Granola.

Yosi Lutwak and Team

Yosi Lutwak, a new partner in Udi's Granola, has taken on the production manager role.  As the business continues to grow, Yosi will develop the processes for producing large quantities of granola at our bakery, while still maintaining our commitment to high quality artisan foods.

With a background varying from fruit farming to high mountain ranching, and from mechanical engineering to Indian organic herbal teas, Yosi is committed to producing large quantities of granola while keeping grandmother’s kitchen quality.
